No sound in flash and video in openSUSE

I was playing recently with openSUSE 11.3 linux distribution and noticed that this is an amazingly good distro. I noticed a few glitches though, related mostly to the sound in flash (for example, when playing youtube.com web site) and in video.

By some reason, I was able to listen music in amarok, but if I tried to play youtube.com or play any video I had no sound. Googling several hours revealed that one has to create file .asoundrc in your home directory (~/.asoundrc) with the following content:

pcm.!default {
type hw
card 1
}

ctl.!default {
type hw
card 1
}

If by some reason you are a newbie and you don’t know how to create file just download this file: http://www.shcherbyna.com/files/linux/.asoundrc and copy it do your HOME directory.

Have fun!
